One of the most important things you need to remember is, your body size does not matter in order to rock good clothes. I will discuss, why it does not matter in the following paragraphs based on my own experiences. So let’s start.
- As a child, I was more into playing with toys and enjoying going outside, however as I grew up my focus shifted more towards studying and lounging around most of day, being a couch potato and doing fewer physical activities. My weight was piling on, and my body started to look out of shape, I wasted many days thinking about how to lose weight, and what clothes I could buy when I do reach my body size goal, instead of appreciating my current body size. We are bombarded with sexy models shown all over the media, being sexy was shown through models who were fit, with a small body. My thoughts changed one day, when I looked at myself in the mirror. I startled to see my own image. That very moment, I realized, if I do not love and appreciate myself, then who else would. Therefore, with a certain adjustment in my lifestyle I was back to myself, I did not always have the thought of regret of being more fitter, and I did not stress for how I looked now. What I want to reiterate here is for you to stop caring about what other people are going to say about your body; you are yourself, and you should be satisfied with it and opt for ways to keep it in a way that is healthy and not problematic for you or people around you.
- The clothes you wear does not portray who you are as a person. Always have a positive image about yourself. I am sure you must have heard a lot about vibes. All of us have a certain aura around us. The people in our surroundings pick up this aura, vibe, energy or light whatever you want to categorize it as. They are going to look at you the way, you want them to look at you with the energy you bounce off from you to them. The size of your body does not really matter, people will treat you like one. No one should judge you on your body size, you can empower your self-reflection towards others through your energy and aura.
- You should always wear what you are comfortable with and what looks nice on you. Sometimes following the latest trend for clothing would not be ideal for you, as in the media, like adverts displayed on TV are mostly people who are very slim. Dressing according to your body shape is the best way to rock. If you dress up in a way that does not suit your gait, you will feel uncomfortable. However, if you dress up with clothes your comfortable with, no matter what your body size is, you will rock. You need to find out your style according to your body type. Also be open to the dressing and clothes of other cultures. You never know their custom stitched clothes could look rather fancy on you.
- I believe nobody should kill themselves to be someone they are not! You may feel good about yourself for some time but in the longer run, you yourself will become frustrated with what you have become. Man made appearance comes with a price, but the appearance gifted by your Creator can never be undermined. You should always remember that.
On a positive note, the world is a small place, we encounter a lot of people in our day to day life and learn a lot from them both consciously and unconsciously. What, I have learnt so far is that Heaven has made a partner for everyone. They might come soon or late in life but surely will come. And for him/her body size would not matter as he/she would love you for what you are and not how you look in terms of a body. The soul is the one that needs to be beautiful, appearances and people are short lived. People remember us in terms of our deeds and good heart. No one will remember us for what kind of body we had or how satisfied they were with us. So, I will end, with John Keats’s note that “beauty is truth and truth is beaut” and that is what one needs to remember in this world.
